Established in 2012, Big Game Heli operates primarily in the Lowveld region, providing professional helicopter services to support conservation, anti-poaching, essential services and wildlife management. We work with game farm owners, private and national reserves and private clients who require an experienced helicopter pilot for aerial support, wildlife operations and specialised aviation services.
The Osmers family, owners of Big Game Heli, are committed to providing professional and reliable helicopter services while maintaining high standards of safety and affordability. Based in Hoedspruit, helicopter pilot Gerry McDonald is a dedicated conservationist with extensive flying experience supporting conservation, anti-poaching and wildlife management operations across Limpopo and the Lowveld region.

Benjamin Osmers, a dedicated conservationist, helicopter pilot, son, husband, brother and father. Benny will mostly be remembered for his larger than life, fun loving personality. The zest and passion which he put into his work was equally matched by his love for his family and friends. Around a bushveld fire Benny would always be the one, beer in hand, sharing accounts of his helicopter flying adventures and wildly laughing at others’ jokes and anecdotes. He is sorely missed by all who had the privilege of meeting and knowing him.
